Pam Sullivan
Full Bio(pdf)
Pam Sullivan received her BFA from the University of Kansas. She has worked in fiber and mixed media techniques for more than thirty years. She creates images that are about traces of past and future, about layers of meaning, as well as layers of materials. Despite living about as far from the oceans that embrace the States as anyone can, she feels a strong connection to water and reflects the water in many of her textile artistic expressions. She combines the tactile medium of fiber embroidery with the perceived rigidity of the copper to construct an environment that is similar to the contrasts of nature. Viewers of her works are invited to overlay their feelings, memories and experiences with her works.
