Nancy Purington

Full Bio(pdf)

Nancy Purington is now a full-time studio artist, having recently retired from Cornell College where she was an art educator for the past 8 years. She obtained her MFA from the University of Iowa. She paints in several mediums and also is highly accomplished in photography. She was deeply moved by the events surrounding the 911 attacks on the World Trade Center. As a result of the events that unfolded that day, she shifted the primary subject of her artistic works to water and its life force and its cleansing nature giving life new birth.
