Michael Sell
Full Bio(pdf)
Michael Sell has been working with oil pastels for more than 20 years. Michael graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design in CA in 1979 where he focused on architecture. Upon graduating he worked in NYC as an independent designer and illustrator. In 1984 he moved to Pennsylvania and began his journey of perfecting still lifes and figures painted in oil pastels. His works cause onlookers to wonder and marvel at how he creates such awe-filled images in oil pastels. His painted onion skins look more real than onions themselves. The mantles which often hold his still-life images appear to recede into the gallery wall behind the art glazing shifting his 2 dimensional works to 3 dimensional in naturally.
