Ms. Flaherty received her Bachelor's degree from Westmar College with a major in Art. She later attended Iowa State University, where she earned her license as an art teacher. Ms. Flaherty has taught art in Iowa public and parochial schools, and now teaches adult and children's classes at the Blanden Memorial Art Museum. She currently spends the majority of her time painting in her studio at the Snell Building in Fort Dodge. Her drawings and paintings reveal her ongoing interest in the human form and the landscape as subjects.
