Heather Gorham

Full Bio(pdf)

Heather Gorham approaches art by taking something usual and making it unusual. She likes to turn things upside down, so to speak, to make others think. As a child she was always creating, spending hours digging in the ground making an army of bizarre, little clay and stick figures, including three-legged dogs and winged monkeys. Her creations were a little sad, a little misshapen troop of misfits set in the sun to dry. They were her inner workings made outward. She approaches making art now much in the same way, trying to make sense of the world by making the intangible real.
